Earlier this autumn, I was delighted to find out that one of my favourite beauty brands, Bobbi Brown, were due to open their first free-standing store in Scotland - right on George Street in the heart of the city centre. This was beyond welcome news for me, as I've been a big fan of BB for years now (I swear by the blushers) and it's actually one of the only brands I've been able to keep in my makeup bag since my last big allergic reaction totally messed up my skin.

When I received an invitation to pop along to the launch party to get a glimpse of the brand new store and chat to some of the expert makeup artists about the products I jumped at the chance and headed over after work one evening with my fave blogger pals Louise and Gillian to have a nose around and try out some Bobbi Brown must-haves.

We all took advantage of the offer to have our makeup touched up by one of the Bobbi Brown professionals (who could say no to an offer like that?) and whilst I tend to stick to a very sheer coverage tinted moisturiser on a day to day basis, I was very tempted by the Skin Foundation Stick which looked incredibly natural on and matched my skin tone perfectly.

The real stars of the show were the lipsticks though - between us we tried out a natural blush shade, a gorgeous corally pink and a super pigmented orange and we loved them all! I used to be a total MAC lipstick fiend, but I have a feeling my collection in the future will become a lot more BB themed - I've got my eye on a couple of the Art Stick shades which might just end up on my Christmas wishlist.

Bobbi Brown Bridal Beauty

Last but not least, I of course have to mention Bobbi Brown's Bridal Beauty service. My best friend Charlotte did her own makeup for her wedding after going into a BB store and having them demonstrate a natural but flawless look, and I'm thinking that I'll be opting for something similar, as it's a much more budget friendly option than having a makeup artist come out to you the morning of the wedding.

The new George Street store actually has a private space at the back of the shop which is perfect for anyone opting for a bridal makeup tutorial who would rather not have all eyes on them in the middle of the room. I believe the cost of the lesson is £30 - which is of course then redeemable on any of the products you end up purchasing. And you know what that means...more money for me to add to the honeymoon fund!

Have any of you opted for a Bobbi Brown look for your wedding? I'd love to hear your feedback and see some photos!
