A Last Minute Mother's Day Gift Guide

Since it's almost Mother's Day, I thought I'd pop up a little last minute gift guide with a few ideas of little treats that would make a perfect gift for your mum on Sunday. My sister and I usually try to club together on something like afternoon tea or a nice bunch of flowers, but it's always nice to give a wrapped up present too. The benefit of smaller presents is that you can easily pop them in the post as well, if you live a little while away from your parents like me. Before I get cracking, isn't the card super cute? It's from a little shop in Bruntsfield - Edinburgh is full of little gems like it!

I always think the best gifts for Mother's Day are always those that your mum would never buy herself - not something that is needed, but something that is wanted, to paraphrase slightly from everyone's least favourite character from Love Actually. Amara is the perfect website for something along those lines - filled to the brim with luxury gifts to suit all budgets. I love this Neom Pillow Mist* and these Ballet Pink Cashmere Socks* - the perfect pairing to encourage the hardest working person you know to take a break!

For a mum who likes to stay on top of things in style, you can't go far wrong with a treat from the lovely ladies at Busy B. I got my passion for stationery from my mum, so I know she'd love this pretty notebook* and pen* to keep in her handbag, although her bag is always huge and packed to the brim, so maybe this little pretty little organiser pouch* would be a better bet!

There's nothing wrong with sticking to something sweet at this time of year - though I'd recommend opting for something with a little more thought than a bashed up pack of Maltesers from your local newsagent. I've recently come across the amazing Coco Chocolatier who are based in Edinburgh - the packaging and range of flavours is BEYOND amazing and I am officially obsessed. If I get some for my mum, it's only fair to get a bar or two for myself as well right?

Lastly, if you're worried you don't have time to order online in time, TK Maxx is ALWAYS a good bet - pop along to your local and you're bound to find something that fits the bill. I always head to mine to stock up on candles - you're always sure to find a gem, even if you have to smell a few that remind you of washing up powder first!
