I've never really understood why some people hate Valentine's Day so much. I mean yes, the schmaltzy, corny crap can be a bit annoying, but if you just ignore the commercial side and focus on the meaning, what could be bad about a day for showing how much you love someone? I don't see why it has to be a partner either - I actually really like the American thing of giving everyone you care about little Valentine's cards or gifts.
Sean and I don't really do presents anymore but we still like to get each other a card and I'll get him a little something (this year it's cupcakes) and he'll take me for dinner and sometimes buy me flowers as well. Obviously we love each other just as much every other day of the year, but it's just become an extra reason for us to dress up and go out on a proper date. And eat all the food, obvz.

This year however, he has been pipped to the post by the lovely Blossoming Gifts, who have romanced me with a bouquet a little early and basically made Sean look like he isn't even trying (j/k maybe). They have a beautiful range of traditional Valentine's Day flowers - think red roses, but also a range of alternative bouquets too - I went for the Scented Lily & Rose and they are STUNNING.
I've received flowers from Blossoming Gifts a couple of times now and I have to say, they're amazing. The flowers arrive beautifully packaged and are always bang on time - if you order by 9pm for next day delivery you can be damn sure you will get next day delivery. They last as well - some of the lilies are still just opening up on my bouquet so I will have them to look at long past February the 14th!
If you want to treat yourself or someone else to some V-Day blooms you still have time, if you order anytime up until 5pm on Saturday they can arrive on Sunday. Also, as my little 'Be My Valentine' gift to you - there's a 33% discount on absolutely any bouquets bar the Flowers by Post range, just use BGIFTS33 at the checkout.
Enjoy, and tweet me any pics of your flowers if you decide to treat yourself!
