Recently I seem to have got in a bit of a rut when it comes to the clothes I wear during the week. I never used to be a jeans girl, but now I live in them. It's just so easy to wake up and throw on a pair of jeans with a checked shirt, or a striped tee, or a cozy knitted jumper. They just go with everything! It's a pretty common thing now for me to go through a whole working week wearing jeans every single day.
So I was a little apprehensive when George challenged me to mix up my #StyleYOUniform and banish the jeans in favour of a pretty dress and a few other key pieces from their A/W collection.
It turns out that if you pick the right dress, it can actually be just as versatile as your favourite pair of skinny jeans! This beautiful black suedette shift (it also comes in tan) was the perfect choice, not only does it look gorgeous on its own with a great pair of heels, but it also makes the perfect multi-wear day dress!
At first I played it safe and took inspiration from the styling on the website, teaming the dress with this grey roll neck, some ankle boots and a floppy hat. It also worked a treat with a striped long sleeved top and my gorgeous Orla Kiely x Clarks dolly shoes.
My last outfit turned out to be my favourite though - how perfectly does the dress go with this hot air balloon print shirt (similar here) and THOSE METALLIC SHOES. These shoes are my new babies - almost everyone has an opinion on them one way or the other, whenever I wear them I hear 'WOW...look at those shoes?' or 'OMG WOW LOOK AT THOSE SHOES'.
So that's that, style rut well and truly broken I would say - thanks for the encouragement George! Are you a denim addict? Would you brave a pair of silver brogues? Let me know your thoughts!
