The Birthday Wishlist

In exactly 18 days AKA less than three weeks I will be a quarter of a century old. Yep, like all other 1990 babies, I will be turning 25 this year. I don't know about you, but when I was 16, the thought of turning 25 seemed ages away - like something that would happen to a legitimate adult. On a side note, nothing makes you feel older than working in a school of teenagers at some point in your life - as I found out last year when an 11 year old approximated my age at anywhere between 30 and 40. Or, about the same age as his mum. WHAT. WHAT. WHAT THE FLYING FUDGE.

Now that I'm actually coming up on that milestone, I can assure any 16 year olds out there that you absolutely won't feel like an adult when you get to my age. I'm still that same person who gets tutted at for messing about and laughing too loudly in public, except now its at the back of a restaurant after too much red wine rather than at the back of the school bus. I'm trying not to focus too much on what I haven't achieved that I thought I would, and more on what I have got in my life to be happy about. One thing that will never change, no matter how old I get, is my love for people giving me presents. I know you aren't supposed to say that, but c'mon. PRESENTS.

1) Pyjama set from Next
In the spirit of being a little bit more grown up, I've decided that I should branch out from my usual sleepwear options of tracksuit bottoms, Sean's gym tops or whatever looks cute in Primark that week. I've been after the perfect button up set forEVER and I've finally spotted this one from Next, perfection!

2) Initial bracelet from Astrid and Miyu
I don't know what it is about having our initials on things that appeal to humans so much, but I can't deny my want for this bracelet. Perfect to wear everyday, and it would look lovely next to my collection of OB watches!

3) Perfume from Jo Malone
I desperately need a new perfume, and I've been dreaming about owning a Jo Malone fragrance for ages. I have this thing though, where I hugely resent buying perfume for myself because it is just so fricking expensive. So somebody needs to buy me some, ASAP. I'm a big fan of fruity and sweet scents so I'm leaning towards the yummy sounding Nectarine Blossom and Honey scent, delicious.

4) Charlotte Olympia Kitty shoes from Selfridges
Yes, okay, so I might be pushing my luck a little bit with this one. But I've wanted these for so long. They're just too perfect for words and I know I'd wear them all the time. They might be one for me to put my birthday money towards!

5) Emma Hardie cleansing balm from Space NK
Scarily, I am starting to get very fine wrinkles around my eyes. I am not okay with this, as whilst I'm far too squeamish to ever have any kind of poison injected into my face to stop them, I don't particularly want bar staff to stop asking me for ID just yet. I figure a middle option is to start investing more in my skin care regime, and I fell in love with this balm when I tried a sample of it recently.

  1. Lovely picks - those shoes are so cute!

  2. Ohh Jo Malone would be the perfect birthday present!
