My third and final look for my Voucher Codes 'How to Wear' Flannel Checks challenge is probably the one that is the most out of my comfort zone - but hey, challenges are all about pushing yourself right? I've never really worn a smock dress before and this one is not just a smock dress - it is an extreme smock dress. I could have eaten as much as I wanted wearing this dress and nobody would have ever noticed - it is not slim fitting. As my mum put it though when she inspected me this morning, something about the cut out shoulders stops it from being an unflattering fit. This is probably the most wintery item out of everything that I bought for this challenge - the dress is a wool mix so its quite heavy and it definitely lends itself best to chunky boots and thick tights. I call this my Lily Melrose look - I could totally see her rocking this dress!

After I had bought this dress (on sale for £28 + free delivery baby) I still had £20 left of my budget and I am just not the kind of person who can bank leftover money and save it for another day. I am the ultimate 'money burning a hole in my pocket' kinda gal and so I decided that for this last outfit I wanted to go out with a bang and rock not just one but two types of check.

I've got a bit of a thing for a structured rucksack and I spotted this little beauty when I went into my local New Look to pick up my ordered blanket cape from the previous outfit. I'm a big fan of clashing prints and the fact that both of these items are monochrome makes it an easy match. I think the combination of prints and of slouchy and structured makes this my favourite outfit of the three - what do you think?!

And that's the last of my outfits for the Voucher Codes 'How to Wear' A/W challenge. Thanks for asking me to take part guys - it was a blast!

  1. I totally agree about the cut out sections on the arms. I really like how you have styled it with the bag and clashed two patterns. Love it! :)
