Occasionally I will get a blog related email that pings into my inbox that immediately makes me think 'ooh, that sounds so fun!'. The invitation I got to the Fever London Stitch Up event was such an email - what could be more fun than an evening filled with cake, bubbly, blogging babes and getting stuck into some arts and crafts?!
Now, it has to be said, I am not the most crafty of people (in terms of making things, I'm obvz super sneaky!) When I knew the lovely Sarah was also attending I did briefly wonder whether they had got the wrong girl - I'm sure most of you have seen that Sarah MAKES ALL OF HER OWN DRESSES - how could I compete with that! Luckily when I arrived at the event it was to discover that we were going to be walked through everything by a professional, the lovely Tania - phew.
There were three crafting activities for us to get stuck into over the next few hours - we started off making a corsage and finished off with a drawstring bag, but my favourite one was the middle (and easiest) task - to decorate a jam jar to create a sweet little tea light holder. I think mine looks pretty presentable, don't you? I'm not going to show you my slightly more disastrous attempts at the things that involved actual sewing, but you can check out Jaclyn's perfectly formed corsage, Sarah's little bow adorned bag and Sherin's handiwork (which she totally did all by herself with no assistance at all...)
In between getting hands on with all of the activities we had a chance to look around the gorgeous Fever London store - its really a gorgeous place, the changing rooms alone are too fabulous for words! I came across a few must have items on my wanderings, there was a stunning rose print jumper and a gorgeous embroidered prom dress in particular that need to end up in my wardrobe soon. I'd also recommend Fever if you are on the look out for some cute kitschy homeware - illustrated side plates are a necessity for any new home right?
Thanks so much Fever and to the other lovely ladies who attended - it was such a fun night!
