A couple of weekends ago, one of my very best friends in the world got married. I was her Maid of Honour (a title I got slightly overexcited about - I was one step away from buying myself a personalised t-shirt...) The day was full of amazing moments, but I have to say one of my favourite parts were the few hours in the morning that all the bridesmaids and the mother of the bride spent getting ready in a little room across the courtyard from the chapel.

Apart from the bride's hair, we were all doing our own hair and makeup so we wandered around in our matching dressing gowns, jamming hair pins into each others rough chignons, borrowing eyeliner and singing along to Bruno Mars. Charlotte and Ben have been together since we were teenagers so there was lots of reminiscing to do and funny or sweet stories to recall.

Of course if there's any day where you are totally entitled to have a drink before midday your wedding day must surely be up there so I volunteered to bring along something we could all toast with as we looked forward to the ceremony. When I was offered a trial of the new Lambrini Strawberry I knew it was perfect - not only is the brand all about girls getting ready together but we all spent our teen years sipping the original stuff (not too early on I might add) and what other than a sugary pink drink could be more perfect for a bride whose first email address contained the words cute, pink and fairy?!

The sweet and fruity fizz went down well (particularly with the mother of the bride) and before long we were lacing Charlotte up in her beautiful wedding gown, slipping on bridesmaid dresses and grabbing our bouquets ready to head down the aisle. Its not often that a review of a product coincides with such a happy memory for me - so thanks Lambrini. Keep your eyes peeled for a special outfit post next with the wedding day part two!

  2. I love the getting ready part of a wedding day - admittedly on my day is was a mad panic/rush but from the other experiences I have had when I've been a bridesmaid its been rather calm!
