Today was the first day that I personally got to spend at Fashion Scout London and boy was I excited, I'd never been to a catwalk show outside of university before and I was raring to take some awesome photos with my LumixGM camera. I decided to wear my beautiful new lip print Poppy Lux dress with some black leather accessories so that if the weather was still totally rubbish I wouldn't end up looking too bedraggled.
My first show today was Belle Sauvage, which was a punchy display of blacks, reds and golds with a militaristic vibe. My favourite part was the gorgeous chain print which was interspersed with lipsticks and cartoon cats - totally amazing. The beauty look of the day was slick hair and red lips, accessorised with those insanely cool leather hats with chains attached.
Next up was the Liz Black showcase which I wandered around clutching an ice cold can of Pimms. The motto of the exhibition was 'Fashion meets Paranoia' and the models posed in front of a huge face and cracked eggs with tiny ants adorning them courtesy of Face Lace. This collection was the kind of thing I usually think of when I think 'fashion show' something you wouldn't necessarily wear yourself but that is hugely visually interesting.
The Hema Kaul show was next, and I was soon enchanted with the display of gorgeous evening wear teamed with silver glittery shoes and huge voluminous chignons. I particularly liked the embellished plunging jumpsuits and the floaty tulle skirts - it was all very princessy and elegant. Beauty wise I spotted one of the key trends of the season - a glossy burgundy lip.
A key trend at Ashley Isham was the use of classic fabrics like tweed, lace, leather and knitwear given an update with twists of leather or heavy embellishment. I loved the delicate prints and the bold sequins and I came away wanting to add almost every single piece to my own wardrobe - definitely the highlight of the day for me!
