Before I attended the recent Debenhams Christmas press day I hadn't really heard of Cargo Cosmetics beyond perhaps briefly spotting the name somewhere on a blog or a magazine article. After chatting to the lady in the know about the range of products my interest was piqued and I was beyond excited to receive one of their gorgeous Lip Colors in the shade Sedona* after the event.
These lipsticks aren't cheap, they retail on the Debenhams website for £13 so they're about the same price as a MAC lipstick but I'd almost go as far as to say that I prefer the formula of this brand. The lipsticks (at least the one that I've tried) are really really pigmented but they're also very creamy and moisturising on the lips, I find that this doesn't highlight my dry areas in the same way that most of my MAC lipsticks do. The staying power is also pretty good, I had a cup of tea soon after taking these pictures and whilst some did end up on the mug I was still left with a solid and even colour. I also prefer the packaging to MAC, these ones come in a sleek metallic bullet that makes you feel like you've got your money's worth!
I've compared Sedona with two other lipsticks on either side of the colour spectrum to give you more of an idea of what the shade is like, compared to the warm toned red of Stiletto you can see that Sedona is definitely more on the coral side of things but its a true orange-y coral, something that's highlighted by comparing it to the more pinky toned Hyper Melon.
Would I recommend these lipsticks? You betcha! I've already added the gorgeous hot pink Punta Cana and the everyday nude Dubai to my mental Christmas list.
