Wishlist | My First Payday

In less than two months I will be finishing my MA course and will need to come face to face with a cold hard fact, its time for me to enter the real world. Much as I'd like to remain the constant student and simply bounce straight into a PhD, that just isn't feasible for me, partly because I can't afford it and doubt I'd get funding and partly because sometimes when I imagine writing a two hundred page paper I also imagine hitting myself over the head with my own laptop.

Yep, its time for me to get an actual full time job for the first time in my life and the one thing that is keeping me going through a mound of job applications and tedious forms is the fact that when I have a real job with a real salary I might be able to buy one of those coveted designer items that I have spent countless hours adding to online baskets before clicking off the page. What are those lusted after items I hear you ask? Well in celebration of the fact that I've just pressed the send button on yet another covering letter I thought I'd share them with you.

Firstly, I will buy an expensive and well fitting pair of classic jeans that will last me for years rather than the cheap ones that I tend to get from Primark that end up sagging around the knees. Currently the number one pair on my hit-list is this dark denim slim fit pair from 7 for all Mankind, one of those brands that you always see on the likes of Kristen Stewart and Jessica Alba.

Secondly we have the accessories, probably the type of designer wear that I spend the most time gazing at online and stroking in store. The two that have been firmly in my head as 'OMG WANT' for months on end are the Kitty flats from Charlotte Olympia and the Mulberry Lily handbag

Lastly there are the pieces that I can't help but feel would aid my transition from layabout student to actual adult human being, a poised professional with a capsule wardrobe filled with investment pieces...a girl can dream right? This Love Moschino coat is the perfect blend of classic and edgy and well, the Victoria by Victoria Beckham dress speaks for itself doesn't it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a 'next payday' wishlist, what's on yours?
