It has become apparent to me that I have reached an age where weddings have become a thing that affects me, I went to two last year and this year I've already spied a number of new bridal themed profile pictures popping up on the Facebook pages of people I went to school with. I also recently received my Save The Date from my best-friend-since-I-was-11 Charlotte, who is marrying her childhood sweetheart Ben next August!
I've managed to wangle/gain by default the privilege of being Maid of Honour for that particular wedding so my dress will be picked for me by the bride at some point...remind me not to annoy her in the near future...but I know from last year how much of a pain it can be to find an appropriate dress to wear as a wedding guest. I spent hours trawling the internet for something that was dressy but not too bling or eye-catching (the floor length sequins were put on the no pile) not to mention the fact that every summer dress seems to be indecently short these days, definitely not suitable for a church wedding!
Monsoon is a bit of a godsend in this respect, because there is always something on sale there that will work perfectly for any kind of formal occasion and they're not outrageously pricy. The dresses I've picked below are the ones that I'd be choosing between if I had a wedding to go to this summer, maybe I'll hunt one down on Facebook to gatecrash?
If you're a bit of a Monsoon/Accessorize fiend like me no doubt you'll pop on to the website just to see if they have something suitable for your needs and then get distracted looking at everything else because its just so pretty - I ended up browsing the wedding dresses. Luckily for you then that I have a sneaky peek video about the new collection, its all very folky and Russian doll-esque and that excites me, have a watch below if that sounds right up your street as well!
