Last Wednesday I popped along to the humungous flagship FCUK store on Oxford Street to attend the launch of Shop to the Beat. DJ (and silver fox) George Lamb has teamed up with Panasonic to create five playlists designed to be listened to as you shop to inspire your outfit choices.
At the launch we were treated to a DJ set from George as we played with the headphones, peeked at all the gorgeous FCUK clothes and, in my case at least, got overexcited to the point of being a groupie as in walked a bunch of people who I'VE SEEN ON THE TELLY. As an example of exactly how uncool I am when faced with someone famous, when I popped up to the DJ booth to get a few pictures of George Lamb the first thing I blurted out was "Where's Larry?" Well done me.
When I wasn't playing 'spot the cast member of Made in Chelsea' I managed to have a listen to one of the playlists using a pair of the new Panasonic headphones that have inspired the whole Shop to the Beat concept. My favourite pair of the night luckily turned out to be the ones that I happened to be given to try out - The HXD5 which are very on trend with their minimal design and shot of neon green.
If you're after a pair of new headphones I'd definitely recommend browsing the new range, I have been using mine on the train since I got them and they completely block out anything except the (very good quality) sound of the music. French Connection customers can also get 30% off them online until the end of April.
These are some of the looks that have been created by FCUK inspired by the playlists. The top two are inspired by the Interview playlist and the bottom one is inspired by Mini Break. (She's accessorised with the headphones I've got which makes me feel like I simply must get the outfit to go with...)
The other playlists that inspired some FCUK SS13 looks were Weekend, Hot Date and Big Night Out. If you need an outfit that fits one of these categories and fancy seeing whether the playlist will inspire you, you can listen to them all on Spotify by searching Shop to the Beat.
Now I'm off to use my headphones to listen to my Do Some Bloody Uni Work Lauren playlist that I created recently*.
*(Okay you got me, its just the Britney Spears Greatest Hits album.)
