#Febshoeary

Hello everyone, Happy first of February! Today I just wanted to bring to your attention a truly amazing charity project that one of my favourite bloggers Madison is launching this month. For her, February is being renamed 'Febshoeary' as she is aiming to cast aside all of her truly amazing shoe collection (pictured above) to live her life this month wearing only one pair of killer four and a half inch heels. That's four and a half inch heels on the commute to work, on a trip to the supermarket...even to the gym!

The reason for this slightly mental and probable extremely painful endeavour is simple, to raise awareness for the fact that our complaints about our shoes - they're out of stock, they pinch our toes or we have to take them off at the end of a night out - are nothing compared to the 300 million children worldwide who don't own adequate shoes full stop, or the 1.4 billion people who suffer from some kind of disease that could have been prevented if they had suitable footwear. When you consider that in 2010 790,000 tons of footwear and other clothing ended up in a landfill it makes you feel pretty awful.

This very real 'shoe problem' is why I'm blogging about Madison's Febshoeary project which you can follow here throughout this month, and also why I've just donated to Soles4Souls, the charity that Madison is raising awareness for. If you donate £1 during Febshoeary, that's 1 pair of shoes that will be distributed to someone desperately in need of them. Please help raise awareness for this amazing project, and if you need or want anymore information just email madison@febshoeary.com

  1. Wow! Good luck to Madison, I'm not sure I could cope in high heels for a whole month! Definitely going to donate :) What a brilliant cause.
