Bodycon Wishlist

All French Connection Women's Clothing

Sometimes I think that if I were just that tiny bit slimmer, all I would wear for every occasion would be an amazing bodycon dress. I mean come on, who hasn't looked at Blake Lively in a bandage dress and coveted that look just a tiny bit? Or, having become hooked on Modern Family recently, at Sofia Vergara in her pencil skirts and wiggle dresses.

At the moment after one particularly unflattering incident, I am avoiding bodycon dresses like the plague. I have a couple sitting in my wardrobe as yet unworn, because I have told myself that they'll look much better if I can just get rid of the worst of my lumpy bits. Until I have got to that point, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed I'm on track for that to happen by Spring, I will keep myself busy making wishlists of the dresses I'll buy sometime in the future like this French Connection one.

Where do you stand on bodycon dresses? Are they a night out essential, or do you prefer something that's just a tiny bit more forgiving for when you've already had one bottle of wine and have started on the bar snacks?

  1. haven't worn bodycon dresses in years! They do tend to be short on me though, so I avoid them! Never again!!!! But they do look gorgeous I agree! :)

  2. I'm the same - I think they look gorgeous on girls with a great figure but until I've slimmed down a bit I'll be avoiding them! Definitely not flattering on me! I love the 'date night' one though, it's lovely xx

  3. Oh gosh that sequin one is pretty, but bodycon freaks me out and I will never be comfortable enough about my size and shape to wear one :(

  4. I'm always really self conscious in body con dresses as well, but sometimes they even make the skinniest of girls look pudgy in areas! Those dresses can either be so flattering if the material is a bit thicker and doesn't accentuate every line, but if the material is thin it's a no-go for me!

    1. Boohoo did quite a good, thick elasticy material one which smoothed me out but I kind of felt like I was wearing full body Spanx ha ha!

  5. I actually love body con! I find if you invest in a better quality piece - like French Connection - the thicker material material actually holds all the lumpy bits on the right place :L

  6. If I'm honest, Bodycon dresses scare me a little bit! I'm a size 6-8, but I feel so self conscious in skintight clothing. I think I'll stick to my Flippy dresses for now! xxx

  7. I love the look of bodycon dresses but they don't suit my shape and every time I try one on it's always a disappointment so I just avoid them now. I think you have be slim or at least super toned to wear them (I'm not). I'm still hoping peplums stay in fashion for years to come!

  8. I'd love to wear them because a lot of girls look gorgeous in bodycon dresses but they are SO so unflattering on me, I would never dare! x

  11. Ahh I love Bodycon dresses; 'Cocktails with the girls', and 'Night out at a club' are two of the dresses I'd definitely wear :)

  12. I'm a big fan of bodycon dresses and of French Connection! I have a pear shaped body and weirdly I think they really suit me compared to baggier dresses which make me look wider!

  13. I'm a size 10 and unless I don't drink or eat anything all day I do get a tummy so I can't wear these either! I have a bodycon dress with a peplum which I absolutely love. Peplums are definitely my saviours!
