Valentines Day is an odd holiday, for a day that is completely centred around love it really is amazing how many people actually detest it! Not just single people either, I know a lot of people in relationships who think it is commercialised crap as well. If I had a pound for every time I heard someone say a variation of "you should show people you love them every single day of the year" I would be a very rich lady indeed. Not that I can blame you if I've just completely summed up your opinion on it, walking past Clintons and gazing into a sea of cards the size of a doorframe and teddy bears holding hearts can make me want to punch myself in the face as well.
Ultimately though, I do like to join in with the sentiment behind the whole thing and spread a little extra love on 14th February-whether that's to my boyfriend, my friends, my family or all of the above. All of the gift ideas I've picked appeal to the unbearably soppy inner part of me that I try desperately to restrain most of the time and even though Sean and I won't be together on the day this year, that doesn't stop me from romancing myself (oo-er) with a batch of heart shaped cookies and a marathon of Pride and Prejudice. (The good one obvs.) I guess that's me firmly in the pro-Valentines camp then!

I like the mug! I'm one of those people who hate Valentine's Day, I'm afraid, in a relationship or not! Hatred was cemented by a boyfriend sending flowers to me at work (I worked in a shop) which was incredibly embarrassing. x
