Yves Rocher

Hello lovelies! Where has the sun gone these last few days? I seriously need to even up my tan lines, I have a brown arm starting about a quarter of the way down because I wore a t-shirt outside the other day!

Today I  thought I'd give you a quick review of two Yves Rocher products which I have been trying out for the last couple of weeks. These products are a body lotion for extra dry skin which can be found here and a night oil for the face and neck which can be found here.

Expert Repair Lotion for Extra Dry Skin* and Culture Bio Precious Night Oil*.

You might remember that a while back I had a huge allergic reaction to the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation. When the swelling and rash eventually died down I found that my skin had completely changed and I was left with dry and sensitive skin on my face (especially around my eyes) and also for some reason the skin on my stomach and chest became very dry and bumpy for a while.

I was getting pretty annoyed with this to be honest, because I'm used to having absolutely no issues with my skin and to suddenly have these problems to deal with was a little overwhelming! When I was contacted and asked whether I'd like to try a couple of products from the Yves Rocher range I jumped at the chance because I thought that maybe using a more natural and organic type of skincare would help my skin get back to its normal state! I chose both the body repair lotion and the night oil because I thought they might help to combat my dry skin problems, and I've been using them ever since they arrived at the beginning of May.

I'm going to be completely honest with you guys, the smell of the products is not amazing. They don't smell awful or anything like that, but you don't get that initial 'mmm that smells amazing' feeling like you do with some skincare products. However, this is due to the fact that these products are not fragranced, they simply contain the natural ingredients needed to care for your skin. I was also conscious of the fact that the foundation that had completely ruined my skin smelt absolutely delicious, so this wasn't really too much of a negative for me.

The night oil has been great, I've been applying it every night before I go to bed, and sometimes I use it in the morning as well if my skin is looking quite dry. It leaves my face feeling really soft and smooth, and I have noticed that the dry patches on my face around my eyes and mouth and on my chin have almost completely disappeared now.

I thought the body lotion was a good general moisturiser but nothing particularly special, until I noticed that it was having a bit of a bonus effect on me. I suffer from Keratosis Pilaris and I imagine a few of you also have the same condition. I don't have it really badly, but I can be quite conscious of the red bumps that are often dotted all over my upper arms. They have by no means completely disappeared since using this product, but I have definitely noticed a difference. Obviously I can't guarantee that it would work for everyone, but if you wanted to give it a go the body lotion is selling at the moment on the website for just £4.75 plus delivery.

I'm one hundred percent going to keep using these products, and I'm also considering trying out some of their hair care products for targeting dull hair in order to see if Yves Rocher can improve my hair as much as they have my skin!

  1. Whaaaa? So many people have had bad things happen with that foundation - I'd not know seeing as the pump on mine broke after about a week, nice one.

Good that your skin is improving a little though, despite the stench ;) xx

  2. Aww I'm glad that your face is alright now after that reaction. It looked so bad, how can foundation do that?! I got the Garnier BB Cream thinking my skin was going to look amazing and it ended up making my skin really dry.. And it took me months to get it back to an ok-ish condition but it's still not great!

  4. Ahh will definitely have to try that body lotion, my arm skin (lol) is so red and bumpy just now, it's horrible!
I'm tempted by the face oil as well, I'm the worst when it comes to skincare but I really need to start some kind of proper routine before I get all wrinkly haha.
