Accessorize Beauty Event

Hello lovelies! I had a great little welcome back to London last night as I was invited to the launch of the new Accessorize beauty range. It was held at the W Hotel in Leicester square, and a bunch of lovely bloggers were treated to drinks and complimentary manicures whilst we browsed the new collection.

You may have seen beauty items in Accessorize previously-I know they have been doing eyeshadows, perfumes and nail polishes for a while now, but everything has now been re-branded and lots of lovely new products have been added to the range. The packaging is pure Accessorize, very very cute with lots of butterflies and leopard print!

I thought I'd give you a little overview of the products that are now on offer and see if I can persuade some of you that you absolutely must have the whole collection, which is how I'm feeling right now!

The lipsticks come in a range of creamy, matte shades and the pigmentation is really pretty good. Some of the shades are supposedly dupes of other more expensive brands which is great considering these cost just £4.95! The packaging is really nice as well, I love the cute little pattern.
Similarly cute is the packaging for these gorgeous lipglosses. Again you have a fairly nice selection of colours, though they are quite strong smelling-a bit like that synthetic birthday cake smell you get in some candles! The lipglosses cost £3.95, and whilst the scent IS quite overpowering, the gloss is nice and not too sticky.
These eyeshadows are similar to the ones that could be found in Accessorize before, though they have been repackaged and are now triple baked. These are definitely eyeshadows to be worn wet for a creamy look or as a liner, because when they are dry you can barely see them! Some of the colours look gorgeous though-I'm after the bright purple! There are ten shades altogether, and they cost £2.95 each.
The people in charge at Accessorize have obviously noticed the trend for bold, filled in brows since they have brought out their own eyebrow pencil. There are only two shades to choose from (brown and dark brown), which is obviously a bit of a pain if you are in between, but the brow pencils themselves are very easy to apply and you get a lot of colour pay off for quite a light touch-so don't go crazy unless you're after a Scouse Brow! These cost £2.95 each.
I absolutely am in love with the packaging of the mascara. As far as I'm concerned it can be rubbish and I'll still keep it in my makeup bag just because it is purple and covered in butterflies! This mascara contains fibres within the formula to lengthen the lashes, and it comes in Brown/Black, Black and Ultra Black. Plus it is only £5.95-what a bargain. That's cheaper than a lot of drugstore mascaras!
The nail polishes come in a nice variety of lovely summery colours-though I do kind of wish the lids were similar to the ones for the lipglosses just to carry the theme of the packaging all the way through! The only issue I have with these nail polishes is that the brush is a bit rubbish, but then again, it is very rare to find a cheap nail polish that has a decent brush, so not too much of a niggle. These are again just £2.95.
These are definitely my favourite part of the collection! I'm a sucker for a gorgeously packaged eyeshadow palette and these fit the bill and then some. The palettes contain a mixture of 32 matte and shimmer eyeshadows and as you can probably see from the photos, one is more neutral (Lovely Day) whilst the other is a bit brighter and more summery (You Are Everything). I am determined to own both of these, and since they're only £8.95 each I can see that happening very soon!
Last but not least we have the new fragrances in the collection. Enchanted is a gorgeously sweet, fruity scent which to me smells quite similar to some of the Britney Spears fragrances. I particularly love that it contains raspberry and candyfloss scents! My friends all know that I'm a sucker for a sweet smelling perfume, so this is absolutely perfect for me.

The two perfumes in the bottom photo are from the Fragrance Wardrobe Collection and are supposed to be complimentary scents where you wear one (Passion) during the day and then add the other (Charm) at night. They both smell absolutely lovely on their own as well though, so don't feel that you have to mix them up! Enchanted costs £15 and both Charm and Passion are £9.99 each.

All in all, I'm very impressed with the Accessorize range! The packaging is gorgeous and makes it clear that the products are part of Accessorize, and the prices are all extremely reasonable for what you get. All of the makeup products will be available from Accessorize and Superdrug stores nationwide from June 6th, and the perfumes will be available from Accessorize and key fragrance retailers like Boots and The Perfume Shop.

P.S. Just another quick note about the Cosmo blog awards! If you happened to want to vote for me, I'd love to be nominated for the Next newcomer blog award here :)
