Make Up Haul

One wonderful aspect of being home means I am within a ten minute drive of Bluewater, the wonderful and very large shopping centre in Greenhithe, Kent. Compared to the tiny amount of shops in St Andrews, Bluewater is like a gold mine for me! Makeup, clothes, shoes galore! So off I popped yesterday to have a good old mooch around with two of my best friends from school and oh my gosh did I have to exercise some serious will power. If I had the means, I could probably shop everyday and never get bored of it.

In the end I picked up a couple of little Christmas gifts and then decided to treat myself to some new makeup:

From the Revlon counter in Boots I picked up the new Facets of Fuchsia nail varnish and a super lustrous lipstick in Black Cherry (I have been dying to try out a plummy lipstick.) Then, on my way out to the car-park through House of Fraser I found myself drawn to the new Glitter and Ice display of the MAC counter, where I couldn't help but pick up this gorgeous Snow Season eyeshadow! (my very first MAC product that I've bought brand new.)

I have to say, I absolutely love it all. A number of you have probably already tried out this nail varnish or seen it swatched on another blog so I'll only briefly say that it if you are a fan of sparkles, you HAVE to pick this up. The nail varnish is a sort of grey colour filled with small and big pieces of beautiful purple glitter. Here is what it looks like after three coats:

The camera I'm using is my sisters and it isn't very good so apologies for the poor quality of the photos. I can tell you that it looks even better in reality!

As for the lippy, I love it! It took me a while to get used to it when I first put it on as I don't usually wear anything quite so dramatic on my lips, but I really like it. The lipstick is creamy and easy to apply and the colour is really amazing. I've swatched it on my lips and on my hand for you to see.

And last but CERTAINLY not least, we have my lovely shiny new MAC eyeshadow:

I adore everything about this eyeshadow, from the pristine white packaging to the shimmering marbled eyeshadow within! The lady who sold this to me informed me that it can be used as a highlighter as well as an eyeshadow, and I can't wait to try it out! Here it is swatched on my hand for now:

So pretty! Its very pigmented so you get a great wash of colour and shimmer to start with, but you can build it up for more effect! Yes this might be the most expensive eyeshadow I have ever purchased, but I don't regret a thing-except perhaps for not having the money to buy the whole collection!

What do you lovely ladies think of the additions to my makeup bag?

  2. I haven't tried it yet but my sister informs me it is as annoying as you'd expect of a glitter polish, but think I'm going to use the tin foil tip I've seen about!
