Nails Inc. Review

As I expect you all know Glamour magazine gave away a free Nails Inc nail polish with the latest issue. Since I buy Glamour monthly anyway, I picked one up and decided to give it a go.

It has to be said that I don't tend to buy non drugstore nail polishes, I get bored of them so easily that it seems like a waste of money to spend more than about a fiver on a bottle. So feel free to let me know if Nails Inc are usually better than the experience I had with my new Basil Street when I painted my nails last night.

It took me around five coats to get the kind of coverage that I usually like (five!) As well as that, I found the formula to be quite gloopy. Now, there is no denying that the colour is gorgeous when you eventually build it up enough:

Unfortunately, perhaps due to the amount of coats I put on, the drying time was abysmal. FIFTEEN minutes later, assuming my nails would now be dry, I got ready for bed. And lo and behold, I smudged the heck out of them all. This is what they look like this morning:

All ridged and marked. Sad face. I'm not even going to show you the other hand because it is just the same but maybe a little bit worse. It has to be said, if I'd actually paid the full price for this polish I'd be really annoyed.

Has anyone else had a bad experience with Nails Inc? Or was  this just an unlucky fluke. Please, let me know, and in the meantime I'm off to remove and repaint my nails with some of my trusty Models Own or Barry M.

  1. I've got a few nails inc. polishes and I love them. I've got 4 and 2 of them are now empty :( I've only had to ever use 2 coats when doing my nails, followed by a top coat. Maybe because Basil Street is a lighter colour it took more coats, or maybe you had a dud bottle :(
That's a shame cause I think nails inc are really good!

  3. Not buying that now! Being fobbed off with rubbish nail varnish just to buy the mag!

  6. I totally agree - I never get on with nails inc, they always have the worst drying times ever. I have to coat it with quick dry topcoat to even make them wearable!

  7. I've just bought that Glamour but haven't tried out the nail polish yet! I saw nails inc. advertised on the telly and they looked amazing, so maybe it's just because it's a freebie...? xx

  8. I only have 1 nails inc polish and it takes forever to dry! And chips quickly too, not a fan xxxx

  9. My Nails inc polishes have ALL been free with something, but saying that, I have just been peer pressured into buying some beetlejuice polishes from asos... Generally though I don't think their none shimmery colours are that great! I use Seche Vite as a top coat though, which dries anything quickly and stops chipping.

  11. I had a bad experience taking it off. I was wearing the Tate colour and even with a base coat my nails were totally like beetroot stained!

  12. Oh dear, that's not good! Well my cousin loves them but after a while they apparently thicken and go gloopy becoming really difficult to spread. Hmmm

  14. Glad I'm not the only one who has/had bad experiences! I'm hoping its just the free ones, because otherwise I've heard quite good things about Nails Inc as a brand!

  15. I bought the mag with the nail varnish last year too, love the colour but it chips within a day, if not the same day! I picked up that colour too & the same thing has happened. It doesn't make me want to go out and spend £11 on their varnishes.. Maybe its just the freebies.. Cheaply made so they can produce however many thousand they need for the circulation of the mag!
    who knows!
